Like Romeo and Juliet, or Cleopatra and Anthony, every love story begins and some just never end.
In the case of Olaitan and Adekemi, their love story began while they were both students of Ekiti State University back in 2013.
Adekemi was a 200 level student of Accounting department whereas Olaitan was studying Business Administration but was also in 200 level.
It was a warm Tuesday afternoon, as told by Olaitan, when he saw this breathtaking magnificent lady walk past him in a lubby.
I wondered if at that instant, like Adam, he saw that this too was the flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. However little did he know that he’d have to keep knocking on Kemi’s heart for six months before she would finally let him in.
To Kemi, two things stood in the way of ‘Laitan;
- She was already in a stable relationship at the time
- ‘Laitan’s complexion was far from that of Kemi’s eligible boyfriend material; she blushed on fair skinned guys but Laitan was stark opposite of light.
But like the Bible simply has it in Matthew 7;7, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you, Laitan was steadfast and persistent in his pursuit and in a stroke of luck and grace, the formerly stable relationship became unstable. This was when Kemi’s leg started to match on Laitan’s banana peels o. After six months of consistent setting of peels, Kemi eventually stepped on the one that fell her in love with the man she’d end up marrying on March 14th, 2020.
His official marriage proposal to Adekemi came early in 2016 but due to the need for financial stability, the wedding didn’t happen until about four years later.
Kemi and Olaitan got married together by Revr. Gabriel Kehinde on 14th March, on a cool Saturday morning at First Baptist Church, Ìsokùn, Ọ̀yọ́. And the reception followed at Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Ìsokùn, Ọ̀yọ́.
Dress code was wine and black as both the bridal train and groomsmen dazzled in amazing fashion styles.
Olaitan and Adekemi’s love story started beautifully just around seven years ago. They now live together peacefully in Ibadan, Oyo, and we pray that by the special grace of God Almighty, this una love no go die ooo, Amen.
From Mistiral, we say happy married life.
MISTIRAL; be remembered.
